BOSTON (CBS) – Portions of the energy law passed in 2007 regulating light bulb efficiencies are about to kick in, and would take most incandescent light bulbs off the shelves. Amy Ridenour, President of the National Center for Public Policy Research, joins Dan to talk about some serious concerns in forcing Americans to make the lighting switch.

    FYI

    Regarding light bulbs…spoke with a recycle company rep today…interesting…they don’t take broken bulbs, but then it’s illegal to dispose of them elsewise..hummmm

    Specific hard metal inside the bulb beside Mercury, found, mined, purchased only from China….Suppliers have been informed as of 9/1/11 price going up almost $1 per bulb commerically.
    Didn’t hear the entire discussion last night, but never heard mention that almost all our schools have floursent bulbs, everywhere..
