Extreme Sailing Takes Over Boston Harbor July 4th Weekend
BOSTON (CBS) – The Extreme Sailing Series is at Fan Pier all weekend as part of Boston Harborfest.
It marks the first time this fast-paced, highly competitive stadium sailing act comes to the US.
“Boston is proud to be the first U.S. city to host the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series to our waterfront for the city’s July 4th celebration – one of the largest in the nation,” said Mayor Menino.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports
Each sailboat in the Extreme 40 fleet is 40 feet in length, weighs 2,645lbs and carries a 62-foot mast.
