Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured On Mass. Pike In Natick

NATICK (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say one motorcyclist has died and another was critically injured when they collided with each other on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Natick.

Police say 40-year-old Dewayne Holmes of Springfield was pronounced dead at the scene early Sunday, and 39-year-old Robert Cephas of Springfield was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The preliminary investigation found the men were riding adjacent to each other when their motorcycles collided and they both were thrown off.

One of the motorcycles hit another vehicle, but that driver was not injured.

Police say speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation later Sunday.
