Matt Brown talks to WBZ-TV’s Karen Anderson before the Bruins parade.

BOSTON (CBS) – Injured Norwood High School hockey player Matt Brown was a special guest at the Bruins parade Saturday.

He attended the sendoff party and then rode in one of the duck boats.

“I got chills,” he told WBZ-TV.   “I just think it’s really special.”

Matt broke his neck in a collision into the boards during a game in January 2010.

Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron visited him when he was getting treatment in Atlanta and the two have since become friends.

Unfortunately, you reported that Matt RODE on a duck boat. That is INCORRECT .. He DID NOT go for a ride on one. He instead met the Bruins
    on the ground.

Classy move by the Bruins organization!! Even in victory the team demonstrated humility and grace by including Matt in the celebration. It is often said that sports can bring out the best in the human spirit. The recognition of Matt’s positive attitude by the Bruins is just another example! Way to go!
