State Updates Sex Ed. Website Originally Called Inappropriate
BOSTON (AP) -- The Department of Public Health has changed some content on a sexual education website for teens that was criticized for using graphic language to describe sex and downplaying the risks of abortion.
Mariatalks.com was re-launched last week with updated material throughout the site.
Julia Hurley, spokeswoman for the department, says the changes were made after officials met with lawmakers and others who had been critical of the content.
Massachusetts Citizens for Life, an anti-abortion organization, applauded a change that now suggests teens talk to parents if they are considering an abortion, but said the site still contained "lewd material."

AIDS Action Committee runs the site with $100,000 in state funding.
