A Worcester police officer at the Tom Ash Little League field.
WORCESTER (CBS) — The game must go on, but in Worcester that means with a lot more police on patrol.
Gun shots rang out near the Tom Ash Field last week and games were cancelled, but Tuesday night they were back on.
Police are stepping up patrols around the field and making sure it’s safe to play.
Parents are still anxious, but they don’t want their kids missing their season, either.
WBZ-TV’s Kate Merrill reports.
The city council allocated the money to add patrols from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday in the area. Police say the extra officers will be on the job through July 2, and possibly longer.
