Red Sox Pitcher Daniel Bard Appeals For Help Finding Missing Friend

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) — Police in the District of Columbia are searching for a 26-year-old friend of Red Sox pitcher Daniel Bard who hasn't been seen for days.

Police say Matthew Alan Hill, who did campus ministry at George Washington University, was last seen Tuesday in the Chinatown neighborhood of the city.

Hill was a groomsman in Bard's wedding. On Saturday, the Red Sox pitcher made a public plea for help finding his good friend.

Bard says friends and family have set up a Facebook page to help find Hill.

Hill's father, Holger Hill, said Friday his son's debit card was last used around noon on Tuesday at a gas station in Arlington, Va.

Hill said his son had been in Washington, DC's Chinatown that morning to drop off a student he was mentoring.

He says his son's disappearance is very uncharacteristic of him and that he always keeps in touch with his loved ones.

Police have classified Hill's disappearance as a "critical" missing person's case and are seeking the public's help in locating him.
