Biden In Boston For JFK Library Visit

BOSTON (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden is set to visit the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston to help launch an initiative seeking to improve funding for and unify research efforts in brain science.

Biden is scheduled to join former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy, Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin and a group of neuroscientists Wednesday to formally launch an initiative called "One Mind for Research."

The forum begins on the eve of the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's challenge to send a man to the moon within a decade.

Speakers scheduled at the event include scientists who are expected to outline pieces of a 10-year plan for research aimed at dramatically improving the understanding and treatment of debilitating neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases.
