BOSTON (CBS) – Getting your kids to eat better foods can be a challenge.
Everyone agrees getting away from fatty foods, eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and fish is better for your health and that of your family…and one author says parents need to take action.
Betsy Block is the author of “Dinner Diaries: Raising Whole Wheat Kids in a White Bread World.” She says parents have to teach their kids good eating habits at home so they’ll continue those habits when they leave home.
Block says you can’t change your family’s eating habits overnight…introduce healthy foods gradually. And she says parents need to lead the way when it comes to demonstrating healthy eating habits.
