6 Hurt In School Van Crash In Hopedale

HOPEDALE (CBS) – Six people were hurt in a school van accident in Hopedale Thursday morning.

A driver in a sedan collided with the mini bus on Route 140 near Mellen Street around 8:30 a.m. The bus was knocked on its side, where it it collided with a third vehicle that was waiting at a stop sign.

WBZ-TV’s Peg Rusconi reports.

The school van, with four children ages 3-to-5 inside, was on its way to a pre-school program. The van driver, a woman who has been driving the bus for many years, and four children were hurt. They were taken to Milford Hospital, along with the driver of the sedan.

None of the injuries were serious, according to the fire department.

The children were all in car seats at the time of the accident.  They attend the Bright Beginnings pre-school in Hopedale.

There’s no word yet on any charges.
