Bruins Chiarelli: Bergeron 'Improving Rapidly,' Had Limited Contact On Tuesday

BOSTON (CBS) – Injured Bruins center Patrice Bergeron participated in some limited contact, GM Peter Chiarelli told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Wednesday morning.

"He's improving rapidly," Chiarelli said of Bergeron, who missed the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with a mild concussion. "I can't tell you with certainty that he'll be in. But he's been really good."

"Yesterday he skated in the morning skate and then he skated in battle drills with the aces," Chiarelli said, confirming that Bergeron participated in light contact drills.

"Certainly he is on the right track," Chiarelli added.

Bergeron will travel with the team to Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

If Bergeron does come back for Game 3 on Thursday, it will not mean the end to rookie Tyler Seguin's playing time.

"I think we'll find a spot for him," Chiarelli joked.

Seguin has three goals and three assists in the first two playoffs games of his career.

Every game of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Bruins and Lightning can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub with pregame coverage beginning 60 minutes before each game with the Dunkin Donuts Bruins Pregame show.
