BOSTON (CBS) – One of the only teams the Boston Red Sox have had success against this season has been the New York Yankees.
The Red Sox took two-of-three in Boston in early April, and will look to do at least that in the Bronx this weekend as they open up a three-game set with the Yankees on Friday night.
The Red Sox are coming off a brief two-game sweep at the hands of the Blue Jays, dropping Boston to 17-20 on the season.
This will be Adrian Gonzlez’ first trip to New York in a Red Sox uniform. He has been crushing the ball lately, hitting .429 with five home runs and eight RBIs in the last seven days. He currently leads Boston with a .329 average and seven home runs on the year.
