Separate Trials For Pair Accused In Murder Of Framingham Man

DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) - Two men charged with dismembering and incinerating the body of man they allegedly killed over a drug debt will be tried separately.

A judge in Norfolk Superior Court has decided to sever the trials of Paul Moccia of Dedham and Daniel Bradley of Westwood at the request of prosecutors and defense attorneys.

The MetroWest Daily News reports that Bradley's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, called the judge's decision "huge."

Moccia and Bradley are charged with murder in connection with the 2009 death of Angel Ramirez of Framingham. Prosecutors say Moccia shot Ramirez rather than pay him the $70,000 drug debt he owed him.

Authorities say they then incinerated the body at a concrete company he co-owns.

They have both pleaded not guilty.   No trial dates have been set.
