BOSTON (CBS) – A New Hampshire man was arrested at Logan Airport Wednesday morning for allegedly attempting pass through security with two antique guns.

TSA officials stopped 44-year-old Brent Cameron while he was heading to a Southwest Airlines gate in Terminal E before 8 a.m.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Bernice Corpuz reports

Police determined the guns to be antique .22 caliber Derringer pistols. Cameron told police he bought the guns at a recent auction and claimed he didn’t know they were in his bag.

State police arrested Cameron after he could not present any proper ID for the weapons.

No ammunition was found with the guns.

antiques or not, a federal firearms license MUST be with you at all times when handeling and transporting weapons…. MOST know to keep it in their wallets. that way you have it at all times. requardless if you need it or not.

    1. Nancy S. says:

Emom, you are correct in suggesting a firearms license should be carried with you. However, a federal firearms license allows a person to act like a dealer, and does not cover possession. Firearms licenses are issued by states.

Nancy you can posses both a license to use and carry a firearms in this state, and yes they are issued by the state, My dad had both, I had the license to use a weapon. We belongd to a gunclub. My dad had it to transport as many do. this guy should have had it regaurdless of having the weapons or not. especially any kind of antique weapon. the only problem with any kind of weapon is the next location some states will not allow an other states license,, something he also would have needed on the other side. This guy will have to pay hefty fines for not having proper license for leaving this state and entering the next state.,, Also I dont beleive these guns should have been allowed on the plan, I beleived they should have been stowed, but things have changed, and since they are antiques, the barrel should have been dissabled with a lock till it got to the next location..

In New Hampshire, where he’s from, you don’t have to have a license to buy or own a gun. You do have to have one if you plan to carry a loaded gun in a vehicle or concealed, but not if you carry it unconcealed.

This is not news. This is only news to the pathetic anti 2nd amendment crowd who doesn’t understand “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”

    1. kasser says:

Recall, so people should be allowed to carry firearms on planes ?
What about courtrooms while we are at ?

I am all for the 2nd Amendment rights. It is the constitution and as long as it is in there, it is the law of the land

But come on, you seriously want to sit next to someone on a plane who has a gun ?

He didn’t know they were in his bag? More than likely he told his teachers when he was in school that the dog ate his homework. What a dumb F.

  5. Skybird5 says:

If i had ‘recently’ purchased antique pistols, I would know exactly where they were.

  6. Wizard says:

Good that this ferking CRIMINAL was arrested.
I feel MUCH safer now, knowing I will not be SHOT IN MY SEAT while napping in-flight…

    1. Liz says:

How would you have been shot by an UNLOADED gun? Did you read the article at all?
