CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – The author known as the “Tiger Mom” faces criticism wherever she goes for what many consider as harsh parenting. But, one of her daughters just got into Harvard.

Amy Chua’s book “Battle Hymn of The Tiger Mother” is a best-seller. In it, she describes a parenting style that means no play dates, sleepovers, TV or computer games, and hours of piano and violin practice without bathroom breaks.

Her girls were definitely good students. Chua’s older daughter Sophia is now deciding whether to attend Harvard University or Yale University.

Sophia’s Mom ruined her. Going to Harvard is impressive, but only to those who are aware of it…

Have to wonder if they are well balanced girls, Restraint to not do things, I am not saying she should have let them run wild and do stupid stuff, BUT hey there are some things in life they SHOULD experience, like a little life.

Ok why is it there is so many piano or violin or both being played with kids that are kinda or are so restricted like this, I have nothing against it but have known many home schooled kids that play the violin and or piano, Why those two instruments, And by not allowing your kids to not have a computer, watch even educational TV, have no play dates or friends, and seem to limit their social life how does that help them, I would think it could hurt them in the long run,. Again not saying they should not do so me of this, but to this extreme, is it not harmfull to isolate your child , to protect them completely from all harm and not give them a way to deal with the changes that do happen in the world. Dont understand this at all
