Biden Visits Mass. To Rebuild Ties With Supporters

BOSTON (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden is visiting Massachusetts to help rally the Democratic political donors and foot soldiers he and President Barack Obama will need to win reelection next year.

Gov. Deval Patrick, who has pledged to campaign on behalf of Obama, was planning to attend one of the two meetings Biden scheduled in Boston on Monday.

Patrick said that Massachusetts was good to the Obama/Biden ticket during the 2008 election cycle and the administration has been good to Massachusetts since.

The Democratic governor said Biden is visiting the state to refresh those relationships and rally party organizers for the coming election cycle.

Patrick is a strong supporter of Obama and is forming his own national political action committee to pay for his campaign travels on behalf of the president.
