Curious About the Size of Japan

How large is Japan, say in relation to the United States?  – Virginia, Brockton

Japan is a little smaller than the state of California. 

But take a look at the population totals:  Japan has about 127-million people and California has about 38-million.  The U.S. has about 310-million.

    Japan is about the size of a (large) Hydrogen Bomb crater. Too bad we stopped testing. Why is this country still on the face of the earth?! (and now we are going to send money there?)
