Nantucket Woman Charged With Daughter’s Death

NANTUCKET (AP) – A Nantucket woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter.

The Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror reports that 26-year-old Dora Tejada was held without bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday in Nantucket District Court.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports.

Police say emergency personnel responded to the family home on Monday after getting a 911 call reporting that the little girl had stopped breathing.

The child was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators have not disclosed a cause of death or said what led them to Tejada. It could not immediately be determined who her lawyer is.
