Celtics Sign Sasha Pavlovic

BOSTON (CBS) - After missing out on signing Corey Brewer, the Celtics have reached an agreement with Sasha Pavlovic, the team confirmed on Thursday.

The seven-year veteran played 14 games total with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Hornets this season, averaging 3.2 points and 1.9 rebounds.

He was a key member of the strong Cavaliers teams the last few years, with his best year coming during the '06-'07 season, when he averaged 9.0 points and shot over 40% on his three-point attempts. The Cavs made it all the way to the NBA Finals that season.

The 6-foot-7 Pavlovic will come off the bench to defend smaller shooting guards and small forwards, giving the Celtics good size at the position and someone else to give starters Paul Pierce and Ray Allen some rest.

Brewer ended up signing with the Mavs.
