Bill Cosby received the honor on Friday.
MEDFORD (CBS) – Tufts University honored entertainer and comedian Bill Cosby on Friday.
Cosby was awarded the Eliot-Pearson Award for Excellence in Children’s Media.
“When you hear people saying things in the media and you not respond in a way of saying, ‘You’re wrong,’ then you’re not doing anything. You’re helping apathy grow,” said Cosby.
Cosby is being recognized for his work with kids and for creating a program free of gender, racial, or ethnic stereotypes.
He shares the honor with Harvard‘s Alvin Poussiant, who served as a consultant on the “The Cosby Show.”
