Historic Quincy City Hall Needs Major Repairs

QUINCY (CBS) - Quincy City Hall is historic, but it's seen better days.

Now plans are being explored to fix up the original section of the complex which is 167-years-old.

It dates back to 1844, when Quincy was still a town.

But there are water leaks, problems with the heat, squirrels like to run around inside and it's generally not a very comfortable place to work in.

Money has been spent to study the problems, but they're not sure how much has to be spent to fix the problems.

Officials are hoping state or federal grants might help.

The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

It's opposite the church where the bodies of presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams lie.
