Heyman: Red Sox To Pick Up Francona's Options
FORT MYERS, FL (CBS) - For Red Sox fans, there has been nothing but good news from Fort Myers this spring.
That news keeps getting better.
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh and Zolak the Red Sox will pick up manager Terry Francona's two options at the end of the season, keeping him on the Boston bench until 2013.

Both options are for $4.5 million year.
When asked about it Tuesday morning, Francona said he knew nothing about it.

Francona has had success since taking over in 2004. In his first season the Red Sox won their first World Series championship in 86 years. It did not take as long for Francona and the Sox to win the second of his tenure in 2007.

Heading into his eighth season in Boston, Francona has a 654-480 record with the Red Sox including 28-17 in the postseason.
