Boston Police Arrest Mass. Inmate Who Escaped

BOSTON (AP) - Boston police officers have arrested a prisoner who walked away form a work-release program at a state office building.

Officers tracking down Milton Walker found the 39-year-old at a Highland Street apartment in the city's Roxbury neighborhood on Saturday night. He was immediately arrested without incident under a warrant for escape from a penal institution.

Walker was one of six prisoners doing maintenance work at the John W. McCormack state office building on Beacon Hill Friday morning. He allegedly asked to use the bathroom and was not seen again. The six inmates were supervised by one correction officer.

Walker is serving a sentence for motor vehicle theft, breaking and entering and larceny.

Authorities previously said they will pursue escape charges.
