Driver Killed In Head-On Collision With School Van In Hanover
HANOVER (CBS) - A driver was killed Thursday when his car collided head-on with a school van in Hanover.
Police say the man was heading north on Route 53 when, for some unknown reason, he crossed the center line and slammed into the front of a van in the southbound lane.
There were four people in the van – the driver, a female passenger and two high school students.
They were taken to South Shore Hospital along with the driver of the sedan, who died a short time later.
His name has not been released.
The others were treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to Police Lt. Bob Heywood.
Investigators do not believe weather was a factor in the crash.
