Curious About Arizona Shooter Charges

The Arizona shooter is being charged with 2 counts of murder and one attempted murder.  Why isn't he being charged with the other 4 murders?  - Dave, Warren

He will be.

Today's court appearance in Phoenix is in Federal Court and will only involve charges for alleged crimes against Federal employees.  Jared Loughner will be charged with 2 counts of murder...one of them for the death of Judge Roll, and 3 counts of attempted murder, including the wounding of Congresswoman Giffords.

However, state charges will be filed against Loughner for the alleged attacks on the other victims.  It just hasn't happened yet.

On another part of this story, there's a lot of talk out there today about the "violent rhetoric" of political speech these days...on both sides of the political spectrum.  With the realization that we don't yet know if that played a role in this case, do you think that kind of incendiary speech encourages people to do crazy things, or do people realize that's it just talk?
