CHELSEA (CBS) – The cold weather appears to have caused a water main break in Chelsea.
A 16-inch pipe that’s 108 years old broke at the intersection of Beacon and Broadway around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
WBZ Radio’s Karen Twomey reports
The water was shut off around 5 a.m., but the flooding buckled the pavement and left a big hole in the road.
WBZ-TV’s Sera Congi reports
About 200 customers in the area have lost water service.
Crews hope to have the pipe and road repaired by the afternoon.
