Enchanted Village
The family favorite that once graced Boston's Downtown Crossing opens for its second season inside Jordan's Furniture in Avon this weekend. The Victorian-era holiday display features hundreds of animatronic figurines and faux indoor snow showers. It's free for the whole family. Santa will be visiting during select hours; there is also a Polar Express ride ($6) and holiday laser LITE show ($3) on site. Check hours of operation
Ski & Snowboard Expo
Dozens of exhibitors will be on hand at the Seaport World Trade Center to help get you ready for the Ski & Snowboard season. You'll find deals on resort stays and the latest gear and fashion for the slopes. Olympic gold medalists Hannah Kearney and Seth Westcott are among the special guests. Edaville Festival of Lights
The annual lights display at Edaville USA in Carver opens this weekend. More than seven million lights decorate the property, and you can view them and all of the holiday displays on a special train ride. "Annie"
The Wheelock Family Theatre's 30th season opens with Annie, the musical about a beloved red-headed orphan. There are shows Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Tickets to this 2.5 hour, all ages show are between $15 and $30. Call 617.879.2000 or buy online at wheelockfamilytheatre.org.
Antiquarian Book Fair
One of the oldest and most prestigious book fairs in the country, the 34th Annual Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair is at the Hynes Convention Center this weekend. The show features rare collections from more than 120 dealers from around the world. First editions, manuscripts, maps as well as an abundance of bargain books. Admission is $8.
Open Studios
