Curious Why The Holiday Season Arrives So Early

Curious Why The Holiday Season Arrives So EarlyAP

Is it too early for holiday music, Christmas displays, Santa appearances and Black Friday sales?

Gerry from Lynn was Curious, so she asked, "why do radio stations have to start playing Christmas music 24-7 now, a month-and-a-half before Christmas?"

J.J. Wright from 103.3 WODS, a station that now plays the music all the time, said that the reason is because the listeners want it.

"Some listeners want us to do it after Thanksgiving, some want it right after Halloween, so we do it now," said Wright.

And Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but stores like Target and Wal-Mart are already gearing up for Black Friday, announcing sales now.

Dozens of children have already packed some malls to see Santa Claus.

When we asked Santa if he was ready for the season and he said, "I'm ready!"

Jordan's Furniture in Avon has been turned into a winter wonderland at its Enchanted Village.

"I do not think it's too early to celebrate because it puts everybody in good spirits," said Christina Fischer, an Enchanted Village visitor.

Whether we like it or not, it seems like the holiday season has already arrived. Do you think that it's too early?
