I-Team: MBTA Motorcycle Unit Under Scrutiny

BOSTON (CBS) - There are more serious questions regarding the MBTA police and lucrative private detail work.

The I-Team first reported last week that one veteran officer is suspected of paying herself for dozens and dozens of details she never worked.

Anne Marie Collins has been put on paid administrative leave.

Now the I-Team has learned all ten members of the MBTA police motorcycle unit are banned from working funeral processions effective immediately.

The I-Team has learned the department is investigating claims that the officers routinely accepted and cashed personal checks from the funeral homes.

The MBTA is requiring all officers to turn over those checks to the detail unit and then get paid for the work in a regular pay check.

The MBTA is checking its records back to January 2010.

The officers have not been suspended or put on leave.
