Palmer residents deny giving alcohol to teen

CBS

Two Palmer residents charged with supplying alcohol to a teenager who later died when he crashed his motorcycle into a utility pole have been released on personal recognizance.

Robin Kolakowski and Kenneth Dean had innocent pleas entered on their behalf at their arraignment Tuesday in Palmer District Court.

Police say 17-year-old Erik Norman was drinking in April at a party at the apartment complex where the 45-year-old Kolakowski and the 28-year-old Dean live. Both have denied giving Norman alcohol.

If convicted, they face up to a year in jail.

Norman's older brother, James Norman, apparently despondent over his brother's death, took his own life a few days later.
