Polito leaving no stones unturned
Republican candidate for treasurer Karyn Polito attended a fundraiser for independent gubernatorial candidate Timothy Cahill, but she says she is supporting Charles Baker, the Republican nominee for governor.
Polito attended a Cahill event Thursday night in Quincy, but her campaign spokeswoman said yesterday that Polito did not write Cahill a check and focused instead on meeting voters.
Spokeswoman Meredith Warren said Polito is seeking votes from Republicans, independents and Democrats, because "winning is a game of addition, not subtraction."
A Cahill spokeswoman said the rally helped Cahill haul in $125,000 in donations.
Polito is facing off against former Democratic National Committee Chairman Steve Grossman in the treasurer's race.
