A Cohasset school administrator has resigned after a Facebook posting that called residents of the upscale South Shore town "arrogant" and "snobby."

Dr. June Talvitie-Siple was the program supervisor for science and math at Cohasset High School. She quit on Tuesday, one day after school officials learned of the comments.

Talvitie-Siple also wrote on her Facebook page that she was, "so not looking forward to another year at Cohasset Schools."

Talvitie-Siple told the Patriot-Ledger that she did not realize the page was a public one. She said she thought the postings could only be viewed by her Facebook friends, who would have known they were mostly meant as a joke.

She also told the newspaper there had been issues with parents and school administrators and that she had been under a lot of stress.
