MBTA police cruiser smashes into car dealership

An MBTA officer is recovering from non life threatening injuries, after crashing his cruiser in Swampscott.

The accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Humphrey Street.  The cruiser smashed into a utility pole, and a couple luxury vehicles in the parking lot of Humphrey Motors.   Police say the transit officer was on routine patrol when he lost control of his cruiser.

Witnesses said it looked like the officer was having some sort of a seizure.
