I've Gotta Weigh-In On This One....

Gary LaPierreI'm sure you've heard or read about the flight attendant in New York City who went into a snit when he was "accidentally"  bumped in the head by a jerk passenger's luggage. Steven Slater went into a tirade on the plane's intercom system for all to hear, grabbed himself a beer, pulled the emergency slide to the plane, slid down the chute and took the train home.   Ya gotta love it, assuming Mr. Slater was ready to end his career as a flight attendant with JetBlue, which clearly he has.   It's pretty clear to me Steven has as few "issues" that need to be worked out, but I'm sure he'll be fine once the snit clears...(plus the criminal charges)http://www.myspace.com/nycflyer71/photos/390079

I don't fly a lot...maybe four to six times a year...but I don't doubt for a minute, Mr. Slater was dealing with an idiot passenger who believes the norms of good behavior are for other people and not for him.

Not long ago, another flight attendant on another airline (US Scare), "accidentally" dropped some ice cubes down the back of my seat...twice...got me soaked..and when I politely brought it to his attention, like Mr. Slater, he proceeded to go into a snit and berate me verbally to all passengers in my area.  Only my common sense, my wife and my seatbelt kept that snitty little flight attendant from "retiring" as well.   One of many reasons I haven't flown US Scare since.

Dealing with the public.....Awful.   Dealing with service people.....Awful as well. I think we could ALL use a little attitude adjustment.
