The search for a missing boater in Fall River is now a recovery mission.
An unidentified man fell overboard at about 11 p.m. Sunday when his small boat struck an abandoned concrete pier in the Taunton River.
A dog on the boat survived.
The fire department pulled its divers from the water early Monday morning because the currents are so strong they had trouble keeping the divers on their lines.
They say the currents likely pushed the victim further down the river.
The Coast Guard and police are still searching for him.
