Cohasett mother charged under Social Host law
A Cohasett woman and her teenage son have made their first court appearance on charges related to the state's Social Host law.
Elizabeth McQuade, 50, is accused of allowing underage drinking at a party at her home Saturday night. Her 18-year-old son, Taylor, is also facing charges.
McQuade reportedly told police that she was not at home most of the time and did not know that minors were drinking on her property. Prosecutors disputed that claim.
Elizabeth McQuade was on probation following an earlier incident that allegedly involved alcohol. She and her son have both pleaded not guilty and are free on personal recognizance.
