Hermida Designated for Assignment

The Red Sox have designated OF Jeremy Hermida for assignment.  The former Marlin was hitting .203 with 5 HR and 27 RBI in 53 games played.  He was just 2-20 since coming off the DL.  OF Ryan Kalish and RP Dustin Richardson are on their way to Fenway from Pawtucket, Kalish will replace Hermida in the Sox lineup today vs. Detroit, playing LF and batting 8th.  More moves are expected today on the MLB non-waiver trade deadline. 

According to reports the Red Sox are interested in adding a reliever and are willing to trade one of their own pitchers from the bullpen including Manny Delcarmen, Hideki Okijima, and Ramon Ramirez.
