Woman charged in fight that killed fetus

Authorities say a 25-year-old Wellesley woman has been indicted for allegedly causing the death of a fetus when she kicked and beat an acquaintance who was six months pregnant.

Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said Sunday that Ayanna Woodhouse will be arraigned on charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault Monday in Suffolk Superior Court.

Conley said Woodhouse allegedly punched and kicked the woman, including several times in the stomach, during a dispute at a Dorchester nail salon in April. They knew each other through Woodhouse's cousin, who was the baby's father.

The female fetus was delivered by emergency Cesarean section, but did not survive.
