Valentine's Day is the perfect time to get out for a date night in celebration of love, friendship or even family. Whether you are looking to go all out with a multi-course meal or do something more unexpected and unique, Boston has no shortage of ways to commemorate the occasion in culinary style. Valentine's Day is sure to be memorable when the focus is on the food you enjoy and the company you keep at these Boston gems.

Home base for a tiny Italian steakhouse chain that started in Boston, Davio's Back Bay location offers up a special Valentine's Day menu. The prix fixe menu will be served for $95 per person and is completely customizable. First up, choose from the antipasti menu where the options include jumbo shrimp cocktail with tomato horseradish sauce, pan seared Jonah crab cake with grain mustard and Beurre Blanc, and Philly cheese steak spring rolls with spicy homemade ketchup and spicy mayo, among the many other options. For the next course, selections include lobster ravioli with grilled leeks, arugula, saffron, and lobster brood; tagliatelle bolognese featuring braised veal, beef, pork, and tomato sauce; or angel hair with fresh basil and pomodoro sauce. Then, the stars of the show, the entrees, will appear in the form of chicken, filet mignon, swordfish, lobster, and more, with Tom's extra special sweetheart dessert to finish the spectacular meal.

On Thursday, February 14th from 5 p.m. through 10 p.m., head to the Ames Hotel in downtown Boston for a five course prix fix menu for guests to enjoy for $65 per adult. Executive Chef Kyle Ketchum has gone all out to create a menu that will start off with Ahi tuna crudo with pickled mushrooms, Hawaiian heart of palm, avocado crema and yuzu-wasabi emulsion. The second course will feature seared Nantucket bay scallops with cauliflower mousseline, crisp pancetta, herb gnocchi, and sauce verjus. For the third course, grilled Brandt Beef Culotte will be offered with parmesan creamed spinach, crispy polenta croutons, and truffle jus. And for dessert, a vanilla bean white chocolate cheesecake tart will be served with dried cherry compote, dark chocolate ganache, and cocoa nibs, to end the meal on a memorable note, followed by the fifth course, which is a shared artisanal cheese plate featuring a collection of foreign and domestic artisanal cheeses and house-made accoutrements.

For a really unique Valentine's Day, spend the holiday dining and cruising around the Boston Harbor on board the Spirit or the Odyssey. Besides the incredible views, the cruises will be offering dinner on Valentine's Day (which falls on Thursday), as well as dinner on Friday, with fine cuisine, champagne, complimentary roses, live entertainment, and dancing. Prices start at $99.90 for tickets and there are various packages available. What better way to bond with your Valentine than to cook together and enjoy the fruits of your labor? You can do just that from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the big day at Sur La Table a few miles outside Boston in Natick. Though it's usually known as a cooking and kitchen store, on Valentine's Day, Sur La Table will be doing something different by becoming a restaurant and cooking class for the evening. Learn new recipes from instructor Tim Doherty while also having fun and eating great food. For $79 per person for the class and meal, the menu will feature roasted pear and arugula salad with pomegranate vinaigrette and Tuscan New York Strip with chocolate Cabernet Sauvignon. For a side dish, guests will cook and feast on tarragon roasted asparagus with the steak, followed by dessert, which is a chocolate soufflé with espresso crème anglaise.

Located in the South End, The Beehive is always the place to go for holidays and events because of the restaurant's food, drinks and live music. For Valentine's Day, The Beehive will serve its regular menu, but will also feature a few specials for the occasion. As usual, live entertainment will set the mood and dinner will be served  5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. with drinks available until 2 a.m. Delicious meals compliment the restaurant's extensive champagne, cocktail and wine list. Reservations are highly recommend for the True Luv'n at The Beehive Valentine's Day event.
