Cold Air Moving In...Then Impending Snow?
Stellar November Weather
Welcome Weekend ReliefTowards afternoon some high clouds will approach from the west associated with an approaching warm front. Regardless, lots of sun will be found with seasonal high temperatures around 50 degrees.
Cloudy With Plenty of Dry This WeekendWith this morning's low lifting north and east of the region, we will dry out as mentioned with North winds wrapping in around the departing low. However thanks to abundant cloud cover temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees in most locations with the "Hot Spot" being far southeastern MA where proximity to a warm front will allow temperatures to reach a balmy 65-67 degrees.
Fantastic Fall Weather On A RollWith the cold front offshore, we can expect a rapid increase in sunshine this morning with mostly sunny skies developing. Although we are behind the cold front, the coolest of the fall air is still well off to our northwest, and as a result temperatures will climb into the lower 70's most locations, with light northwesterly winds. It doesn't get much better than this (unless the Patriots win of course).
Record Heat Builds This AfternoonTemps are expected to surge this afternoon with sunny skies with highs climbing into the 80's nearing 90.
A Summer Surge Just In Time For Marathon MondayLet the warm up begin! A warm front lies south of New England the morning. Clouds are breaking with increasing sunshine for the rest of the morning into the early afternoon. A light SW wind will help allow temps to climb into the 70's to near 80 inland, with a cooler breeze to be found at our south facing coastlines. The warm front will begin to push through late today and tonight. Clouds will be spilling back into New England late today and tonight. The remnants of the tornado outbreak in the Plains is spilling over the ridge and will be directed into the region tonight along the warm front. The best chance of a few showers will be between 6PM and midnight tonight.
Temperatures In New England: Whose Town Is The Hottest? With excessive heat warnings across the state, some cities and towns are reporting temperatures in the triple-digits. Weather spotters in over 70 locations throughout Massachusetts--plus more in New Hampshire and Rhode Island--have noted temperatures at 97 degrees and higher.
Summer Warmth CuriosityA look at average high temperatures show the peak occurs in July, though August temperatures typically are also warmer than June-the month of the summer Solstice.
More Mild to Come...But With CloudsA front will stall over us today, so any sun will be fading this afternoon with skies becoming mostly cloudy. Showers will track along this front right through southern New England during the mid-later part of the afternoon. So this Easter Sunday will not be picture perfect, but a whole lot better than yesterday!
Plenty To Look Forward To....Clouds have moved in this morning ahead of a warm front. This front is the leading edge of some warmer air which will move in for Valentine's day. Along this front is a vortmax which will slide through SNE during the midday and afternoon. A line of snow showers is pushing through eastern NY and and enter the Berkshires, CT, and S. VT later this morning and will move east during the afternoon. A light coating to 1" is possible in the western hills...otherwise most of us have the chance of a passing flurry or snow shower this afternoon.
