Ice Runway Opens In New Hampshire
ALTON, N.H. (CBS) -- The Alton Bay Seaplane Base and Ice Runway is open for business.
It is the only plowed ice runway in the continental United States.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation-managed runway needs ice that is 12-inch thick to host runway operations. The base reached that on Monday.
"We look forward to a wonderful season ahead," wrote NHDOT on Facebook.
