Sen. Tom Cotton Plans To Block Rachael Rollins' Confirmation As U.S. Attorney

BOSTON (CBS) – Republican Sen. Tom Cotton is trying to block Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins from becoming the next U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts.

The senator from Arkansas is the first lawmaker to publicly oppose her nomination.

Cotton is an outspoken critic of police reform, including Rollins' stance on criminal justice.

Her nomination needs to be confirmed by the Senate. If it is, she would be the first Black woman in history to hold the job.
