BOSTON (CBS) — Researchers say they are concerned about the potential impact COVID-19 might have on cancer survival rates.

In fact, they say by 2030, the pandemic could be to blame for nearly 2,500 additional breast cancer deaths in the U.S. A study found pandemic shutdowns and precautions reduced mammograms by 80%.

Treatments also suffered significant delays, doctors said.
