60-Year-Old Skier Dies At Stowe Mountain In Vermont

STOWE, V.T. (CBS) -- A skier died on Monday afternoon at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont. The man hit a tree while skiing, Stowe Police said.

The skier was identified as 60-year-old Arthur Powers from Westport, Connecticut.

Ski patrol responded and took Powers off the mountain where Stowe EMS took over rescue efforts but he was pronounced dead at the resort.

Stowe Police and the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating.
