A tractor-trailer was surrounded by police tape about a half mile from where the person was hit. Police confirmed that was the vehicle involved in the crash.

It is not known if the driver knew he had hit someone. No charges have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.

People familiar with the area say it is a dangerous intersection.

“Cars fly up and down the street they want to make this light because it’s a five light intersection,” said one man. “I see vehicles just missing people running yellow lights running through red lights just in trying to make this light. It has to stop.”
