Fire Rips Through Several New Bedford Buildings
NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – A large fire broke out at a mixed use commercial and residential building in New Bedford Wednesday morning. Flames spread to two other buildings in the neighborhood.
It happened just after 8 a.m. in the area of North Front and Tallman streets.
Flames could be seen ripping through the building's roof, which eventually collapsed.
The majority of the damage was done to the building that includes The Pub, which has long been vacant.
Red Cross volunteers are assisting about 20 people who have nowhere to live because of the fire.
No one was injured. The cause is still under investigation.
