BOSTON (CBS) – A person was shot on Colorado Street in Mattapan just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. The victim passed away overnight.

Officers said they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

Police said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide. This is the sixth homicide Boston Police are investigating this year.

A K-9 unit was brought to the front of a home to find evidence. The shooting is still under investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police said there have been no arrests and they do not have a description of the suspect.
