26-Year-Old Dies After Shooting In Brockton

BROCKTON (CBS) -- A 26-year-old man died after a shooting in Brockton Friday night, according to the Plymouth County district attorney's office. He has been identified as Marshawn Potts.

Police said they received a call about the shooting on Shaw Road shortly after 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found Potts lying in the driveway of his home.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting, but the D.A. said the shooting does not appear to be random and that the neighborhood is safe.

Witness Judie St. Cyr said she heard four gunshots.

Crime scene tape could still be seen on Shaw Street Saturday morning. Police were seen using a K-9 unit in the area Saturday.

Family and friends were seen coming by the home Saturday to offer support. Neighbors described the owners of the house as nice people.

Anyone with information is asked to Brockton Police or State Police Detectives at 508-897-5234.
