2 Women Trapped, Seriously Injured In Acton Crash With Tractor Trailer

ACTON (CBS) – Two women were trapped and seriously injured Monday morning during a crash involving a car and tractor trailer in Acton.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. on Great Road near Meyer Hill Drive.

The Nissan Versa the two women were in was heavily damaged. Firefighters extricated the two women using a hydraulic tool.

The drvier was rushed from the scene by ambulance, then taken to Mass General Hopsital by MedFlight. She is in critical condition.

Police said the passenger was taken by ambulance to Lahey Hospital in serious condition.

Though the tractor trailer was damaged in the crash, the driver was not hurt and did remain on scene.

Route 2A was closed following the crash while police reconstructed the incident.

Police are still investigating the crash. No charges or citations have been filed as of Monday morning.
