BOSTON (CBS) – The Red Sox placed struggling pitcher David Price on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist injury.
Price underwent an MRI that showed a TFCC cyst, the team said on Thursday. The injury was treated with a cortisone shot.
In a corresponding move, the Red Sox recalled pitcher Hector Velazquez from Pawtucket.
The move is retroactive to August 4.
Price has made 21 starts this season. He is 7-5 with a 4.36 ERA.
